Banking and Financial Institutions

The Firm’s Banking and Financial Institutions Department services a broad range of members of the financial community. Clients include domestic and foreign commercial banks, savings banks, savings and loan associations, credit unions, mortgage banking companies and insurance companies. We provide legal services which cover the full range of financial institution activities, from new charters to charter conversions, acquisitions and mergers; and from complex commercial transactions and regulatory issues to day-to-day compliance matters and corporate governance. We also regularly advise and represent our financial institutional clients in all aspects of their lending activities.

The Department has extensive experience dealing with state and federal regulatory authorities including the New York State Banking Department, the Office of Thrift Supervision, the Federal Reserve Board of Governors, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, the Comptroller of the Currency and the National Credit Union Administration.
