James A. Quinton Of Counsel
Jim Quinton has been practicing Intellectual Property law for over 20 years. In that time he has had extensive experience in prosecuting and litigating patents covering pharmaceuticals, lasers and other medical related products. He has been involved in numerous patent litigations and other technologies including semi-conductors, lasers, water purifications and hardware products. He has litigated in the field of trademarks and trade dress and in the area of unfair competition, trade secret and copyrights.
Mr. Quinton has prepared opinions on patent validity, infringement and freedom to operate issues in the chemical, pharmaceutical, medical device, electronic laser, software and mechanical arts. He has represented clients in administrative proceedings before the United States Patent & Trademark Office including re-examinations, interferences and appeals to the Board of Patent Appeals.
Mr. Quinton has advised clients regarding confidentiality, licensing and employment/consultant agreements; and drafted settlement agreements and licensing agreements among multi-national companies in various technologies. He has advised clients in trademark and trade dress disputes and in the area of unfair competition and copyright as well as a selection of trademarks and branding issues.
