Paul Richard Karan Partner

Mr. Karan chairs the firm’s Wills, Trusts, Estates and Personal Planning Department. He has broad experience in all phases of sophisticated personal and succession planning, estate and trust administration, estate and gift tax matters, including audits and court proceedings, and high profile estate and trust litigation. He works with members of the firm’s corporate, real estate and litigation departments as necessary in order to provide the depth and breadth of experience required for specific matters.

Mr. Karan is a fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel and was the Downstate New York Chair for five years. He is also the former chair of the Trusts and Estates Law Section of the New York State Bar Association and remains on its Executive Committee. He has been a member of a number of committees of these organizations as well as those of the American and New York City Bar Associations.

Mr. Karan has written numerous articles for publication in both professional and non-professional periodicals and has lectured extensively on many subjects to a variety of professional and non-professional organizations, including the Internal Revenue Service.
