Wesley Chen Special Counsel

Mr. Chen is a member of the Firm’s Banking and Financial Institutions Practice Group.

Mr. Chen represents domestic and foreign financial institutions on strategic planning matters and implementation and developing and implementing critical policies, procedures and practices to monitor and mitigate corporate, business operation, compliance and transactional risks with focus on assessing, anticipating and assisting clients in dealing with the challenges and opportunities facing organizations in changing economic, competitive, legal and regulatory environments.

In the transactional area of his practice, he represents financial institutions in all phases of loan and credit transactions ranging from providing consultation and advice in underwriting and structuring transactions, meeting prudent business and regulatory requirements through drafting loan documentation and handling closings relating to commercial mortgages, construction, lending and trade finance transactions. He is an experienced lead and participant counsel in international money center syndicated credit transactions. He also has extensive experience in loan work-outs and assisting clients to manage litigation in a cost efficient manner.

He represents and counsels clients in matters involving internal investigations and in responding to law enforcement and other governmental inquiries from federal and state agencies in the United States and foreign governments.

For nearly thirty years, Wesley has assisted clients to navigate across cultures to build cooperative and effective working relationships between and among domestic and foreign organizations, government agencies and advocacy groups.
